My England

I love you, my England, yes I do
If love it is, then why leave you?
Well, even though I love to roam
My heart will always call you 'home'
And one day soon, my roaming done
I'll come back home, we'll have such fun

And once again I'll walk your lanes
My dog in tow, my heart in chains
We'll walk on beaches, by the sea
And throw some sticks, my dog and me
And when I want, I'll find a pub
And have my share of English grub

My England, I can hardly wait
To open up a creaking gate
Which leads me to my English home
I'll never feel I'm on my own
For I'll be back with folk like me
We islanders, who love the sea

Yes, I'll be back, I hope it's soon
There's nothing like an English June
